A pipeline interconnect agreement governs the physical connection between two pipeline systems, defining the interconnect point, equipment, measurement, and any land rights needed at the tie-in. It is common where gathering systems meet transmission lines. It sets the metering and equipment each operator provides, the pressure and quality specs, and any surface rights at the connection. Interconnects are where gathering systems hand off to transmission lines or two systems exchange volumes.
