License Agreement (Land)

A land license agreement grants permission to use property for a specific purpose, typically revocable and more limited than a lease or easement. It does not convey an interest in the land, only permission to use it. Unlike an easement, a license is generally personal to the holder, can be revoked by the owner, and does not survive a sale of the land. It suits short-term or low-commitment uses such as staging areas, temporary access, or equipment placement.
Licenses for access, staging, or attachments carry their own terms and fees. Gridlync tracks them alongside leases and easements.
Example
During construction of a substation, Ironwood Utility obtains a revocable license from farmer Lucy Brandt to stage equipment on her adjacent field for six months, paying $1,500 a month, with no permanent right once the work is done.
