Gathering Line Easement

A gathering line easement grants the right to install and operate the smaller pipelines that collect oil, gas, or water from wells and carry it to processing or larger transmission lines. It is a core midstream land right. These easements run across many small tracts to connect scattered wells to a central point, and each grant sets the corridor width, depth, and payment. As drilling expands, operators add new gathering easements to tie in additional wells.
