Collocation Agreement

A collocation agreement allows a provider to place equipment on a tower, rooftop, or site already used by others, sharing the structure for a recurring fee. It is common for wireless and telecom deployments. The provider rents space on an existing structure rather than building its own, paying a recurring fee and sharing the site with other tenants. Collocation speeds deployment and is favored by zoning rules that discourage new towers.
Collocations add recurring obligations on top of the underlying site lease. Gridlync tracks both the ground lease and each collocation in the same platform.
Example
Pinnacle Wireless signs a collocation agreement to mount antennas on Apex Tower Co.’s existing 180-foot monopole alongside two other carriers, paying $1,800 a month rather than building and permitting a new tower.
